Economy Minister Delivers Kingdom’s Address at 2025 UN Forum on Sustainable Development
Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim delivered the Kingdom’s address at the 2025 United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, held in New York City.
During his speech, Alibrahim stated: “In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Vision 2030 has emerged as a national project rooted in the ambitions of our wise leadership and the aspirations of our citizens, making the Kingdom the fastest-advancing G20 country in sustainable development indicators over the past 10 years.” He emphasized that this achievement resulted from aligning ambition with organized action, supported by strong will and effective policies.
The minister referred to the Kingdom’s call at last year’s forum: “At this forum last year, the Kingdom called for transitioning into a new phase of implementation, supported by an updated mechanism based on three principles: first, focusing impact on the most pressing challenges and avoiding dispersion into marginal issues; second, designing agile solutions that can be adapted and replicated in various contexts; and third, relying on evidence and data to build decisions on the strongest foundations.”
He highlighted the pioneering local efforts stemming from national sustainable development plans, saying: “Madinah has launched the Atlas of Sustainable Development for all 70 of its neighborhoods, a pioneering step that provides in-depth data and enables the simulation of scientific scenarios and more accurate, impactful policymaking.”
Alibrahim reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to global collaboration, saying: “We will continue close collaboration with member states to turn commitments into results and ambitions into reality, building a present and future that leaves no one behind.”
