Foreign Trade Authority Concludes Training, Development Program for Overseas Delegates

The General Authority of Foreign Trade, represented by the Shared Services Agency, today concluded its training and development program for overseas delegates. The three-week program, held at the authority's headquarters in Riyadh, aimed to enhance the performance and efficiency of its representatives in foreign offices and commercial attachés, thereby positively impacting the Kingdom’s trade relations and international reputation.

The program provided an in-depth overview of the authority's mandates and operations, covering areas such as international organizations and agreements, trade remedies, international relations, private-sector affairs, global representation, and the functions of various internal departments.

In collaboration with the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies, the program also addressed key topics in public relations within diplomatic work, diplomatic and consular law, Saudi economic policy, and foreign aid.

Participants received an introduction to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and explored topics such as goods, tariffs, trade remedies, services, and intellectual-property rights, in cooperation with the WTO.

The authority also arranged field visits for delegates to several government entities, including the Ministry of Investment; the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization; the Saudi Export Development Authority; the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority; the Saudi EXIM Bank; and the Federation of Saudi Chambers. These visits provided insights into the trade practices and international engagement efforts of leading national institutions.
