
MWL Secretary General Discusses Islamic Solidarity and Counter-Terrorism with Afghan Ministers
Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa met with Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi at the prime minister's palace in Kabul.
During their discussion, they addressed topics related to Islamic solidarity and the importance of conveying the true essence of Islam. They emphasized the manifestations of Islam's tolerance as reflected in the Holy Quran and the Prophet's Sunnah, and its influence on Muslim behavior at both individual and community levels.
The meeting acknowledged the significance of the Charter of Makkah and the Charter on Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects, as well as the vital role of the MWL's Islamic Fiqh Council, the oldest fiqh council that unites leading scholars and grand muftis.
They also reviewed the challenges posed by customs and traditions that conflict with Islamic Sharia in some Muslim societies, emphasizing the need for religious awareness and guidance to address these issues.
Furthermore, Sheikh Al-Issa praised the Afghan government's efforts in combating terrorism. He met with Afghan Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani and discussed the government's initiatives against terrorist organizations. They both underscored the importance of unity in Islam.
