King Khalid University Achieves Advanced Rankings in Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2025
King Khalid University made notable progress in the Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2025, with several disciplines securing advanced global positions. The achievement reflects the continued development of its scientific and research capabilities and its growing contribution to the development strategy of Aseer Region, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the university’s own 2030 strategy.
The university ranked within the 101–150 range globally in mathematics and in energy engineering and science, and within the 151–200 range in metallurgical engineering. It also maintained its standing within the 201–300 range in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, instrumentation and measurement science and engineering, pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, dentistry and oral sciences, agricultural sciences, veterinary sciences, and water resources.
In addition, the university placed within the 301–400 range in materials science and engineering, and within the 401–500 range in chemistry and electrical and electronic engineering.
Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Hamed bin Majdou’ Al-Qarni said the university’s progress reflects the strength of its academic and research environment and its capacity to deliver innovative research projects that serve the community and align with national priorities.
Supervisor of the International Rankings Unit Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Qahtani noted that the university follows a scientific and data-driven approach to monitoring performance indicators, which continues to strengthen its global presence and improve its standing in international rankings.
