SDRPY-Backed Volleyball Tournament Attracts Large Turnout in Hadhramaut
The volleyball tournament in Hadramaut Governorate, supported by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), is drawing strong participation and a large public turnout, reflecting growing interest in local sports activities.
The event is held under the patronage of Hadhramaut Governor Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi and organized by the governorate’s youth and sports office in cooperation with the Yemeni Volleyball Federation.
The tournament uses a knockout format, with teams divided into two groups, one representing clubs from the Hadhramaut coast and the other from the Hadhramaut Valley. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on November 28, with the final scheduled for November 30.
This competition is part of a broader sports initiative supported by SDRPY, which includes five sporting events in football, volleyball, basketball, handball, and chess held across four Yemeni governorates.
