National Greening Program Intensifies Land Rehabilitation Efforts

The National Greening Program confirmed that its technical teams are intensifying efforts to rehabilitate land by verifying and analyzing vegetation sites to assess plant density and identify areas affected by environmental changes.
The program team responsible for the rehabilitation platform follows a multi-step process. It reviews and verifies the validity of inputs and analyzes submitted reports. Sites are assessed using satellite imagery and remote sensing techniques to measure vegetation density at the beginning and end of the reporting period. This process helps detect changes and identify the most affected areas.
After technical analysis confirms compliance with rehabilitation standards, specialists begin field verification. This involves measuring natural regeneration (plant abundance and dominance), monitoring the presence of invasive plants, and studying the soil by assessing erosion rates, compaction levels, gravel content, sand encroachment, and permeability.
