Saudi Arabia Showcases Civil Aviation Opportunities at Davos 2025

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) highlighted strategic investment opportunities and the transformative role of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in driving innovation during its participation in the "Saudi House" pavilion at the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos. The initiative, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, features contributions from various government agencies.
GACA participated in two high-level sessions focusing on investment prospects and the aviation sector's pivotal role in economic growth. The discussions emphasized how the aviation sector strategy, aligned with Vision 2030, is positioning Saudi Arabia as a global aviation leader.
During a session titled "The Future of Aviation," GACA Executive Vice President of Air Transport and International Cooperation Ali bin Mohammed Rajab underscored the authority’s efforts to attract international investments, adding that these efforts include promoting sustainable growth and fostering innovation through global partnerships, while also advancing Saudi talent within the aviation sector.
Rajab highlighted the Kingdom’s global leadership in civil aviation, citing its active participation in organizations like the UN International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO). He also noted the success of the 2024 Future Aviation Forum, which resulted in 102 agreements valued at $20 billion.
He explained that the Kingdom’s aviation sector has shown remarkable growth, including a 35% increase in air cargo capabilities during 2024 and connections to over 170 global destinations, adding that these developments bolster trade, tourism, and humanitarian efforts, further solidifying Saudi Arabia’s influence on the global stage.
The Saudi House pavilion serves as a platform for entrepreneurs, innovators, and thought leaders to discuss transformative trends shaping the future of global society and economy. The Saudi House initiative will host a series of dialogue sessions addressing key trends in social and economic transformation both locally and globally
