Long Shelf Life, Lasting Impact: Red Planet Eyes Saudi Expansion
- Red Planet is making its mark as a pioneering force in food security. What significance does your participation in the Saudi Food Show have for the brand’s strategic goals in the Kingdom and the wider GCC region?
The Saudi Food Show 2025, which brought together prominent global industry players to reflect on the latest trends, innovations, and opportunities in the food and beverage industry, served as an ideal platform for us to demonstrate our commitment to redefining food security and preservation. With our official brand launch in the UAE, our participation in this event marked a significant step towards our company’s expansion into Saudi Arabia and other important regional markets.
During the event, we showcased our premium products, which are free from artificial preservatives, colourings, or flavours, and stay fresh for up to 25 years. Our products feature a wide variety of ready-made meals, including authentic Arabic dishes and flavours inspired by the distinct culinary traditions of the GCC region. Therefore, we are extremely pleased to have participated in this dynamic forum, which enabled us to forge strategic partnerships that will help further our goal of improving food accessibility and resilience in the Middle East and beyond.
- Your facility is the first of its kind in the region, offering shelf-stable meals with a 25-year shelf life. How has the Saudi market responded to this innovative approach to food preservation?
Red Planet is strategically located to serve both local and regional markets. Our shelf-stable nutritious meals are derived from local Arabic traditions and authentic taste profiles. We have received an extremely favourable response in the Saudi market, cementing our position as leaders in food security. The company has a strong growth trajectory and plans to expand its operations and product line over the next five years, focusing on new partnerships, markets, and industries.
- Could you elaborate on how technology and quality control play a part in your production process and how Red Planet stands out in a competitive industry like Saudi Arabia?
At Red Panet, we are dedicated to establishing new benchmarks in food innovation, safety, and reliability. We utilise cutting-edge freeze-drying technology to remove up to 95 per cent of moisture from food, ensuring long-term preservation and maintaining natural taste, rich flavours, and essential nutrition for every meal, while delivering an exceptional shelf life of up to 25 years. We constantly ensure that our products meet the highest standards for taste and safety by employing rigorous testing and quality control procedures.
Our goal is to provide the finest, most delectable meals, starting with procuring quality ingredients and continuing through careful preparation and inspection processes. This closely aligns with Red Planet's operational strategy, which emphasises maximising efficiency while upholding the highest quality standards.
- Looking ahead, what are your priorities for expanding into the Saudi market? Are there any specific sectors or distribution channels you are targeting post-show?
The Saudi market is a strategic priority that aligns with our long-term mission to enhance regional food resilience. We will focus on deepening our engagement with key sectors, including emergency response, defence, and government-led food security initiatives. We also see significant potential in exploring partnerships with logistics providers, civil defence authorities, and public health agencies – entities that share our commitment to innovation, preparedness, and long-term sustainability.
As we continue to scale, we aim to establish a local presence in Saudi Arabia, supported by efficient supply chain infrastructure and sector-specific partnerships. The foundation laid at the Saudi Food Show will act as a launchpad for future collaborations and operational growth in one of the region’s most forward-looking markets.
