City Center’ Project: An Urban Destination that Embodies the Spirit and Heritage of Madinah

The “City Center” project stands as one of Madinah’s distinctive urban developments, embodying the city’s authentic spirit through a modern and integrated design that enriches the lives of residents and visitors. The project enhances the urban experience of pilgrims, supports entrepreneurs, and stimulates tourism and commercial activity across the region.
Located next to Qiblatain Mosque, a historic site linked to the Prophet’s biography and the change of the Qibla direction, the project forms a vibrant destination within the city’s humanization initiatives. It features cafés, restaurants, and family-friendly spaces inspired by Madinah’s environment and its rich urban and social heritage.
The “City Center” project offers a range of authentic cultural experiences through interactive exhibitions and thematic corners, including the Madinah tea experience, showcases of the bounties of Madinah’s farms, and displays highlighting Ajwa date innovations. Visitors can also explore an educational exhibition titled “Why It Is Called the Qiblatain,” which tells the story and historical significance of the location.
The project’s design identity draws inspiration from the area surrounding Qiblatain Mosque and Wadi Al-Aqiq, incorporating natural elements such as stone textures, palm trees, and native plants. This harmonious blend of heritage and modernity provides a distinctive experience that reflects the authenticity, warmth, and enduring spirit of Madinah’s community.
Supervised by the Madinah Region Development Authority, the “City Center” project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life, revive the city’s urban identity, and create dynamic urban and tourism destinations in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
