Taif Racing Season's Third Week Kicks Off with Key Races
The Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia is set to host the third week of the Taif Racing Season on August 8 and 9 at the King Khalid Racecourse in Taif. The event will feature 10 rounds each day, with races for both Thoroughbred and purebred Arabian horses of various classifications and ages.
Friday's events will start with a round for novice Arabian horses over a distance of 1,600 meters. The day will conclude with the highly anticipated preparatory round for the Al-Shafa Cup, a 2,000-meter race with a prize of SAR120,000.
On Saturday, the tenth and final round will be the Al-Hada Cup, the first cup of the Taif Racing Season. Three-year-old local-breed horses will compete over a distance of 1,400 meters for a prize of SAR150,000.
