KSrelief, BCHR Sign Agreement to Support Agricultural, Fishery Sectors in Yemen
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed a joint cooperation agreement with the Benevolence Coalition for Humanitarian Relief (BCHR) to promote sustainable agriculture and empower the agricultural and fishery sectors in the Yemeni governorates of Marib, Hadhramaut, Al-Mahra, Shabwa, and Socotra, benefiting 3,000 individuals directly and 21,000 indirectly.
The agreement was signed by KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz and BCHR Executive Director Eng. Fahmi Mansour at the Fourth Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.
The agreement seeks to enhance the resilience of farmers and fishermen while contributing to local food production through various interventions. These include supplying agricultural inputs such as seeds, equipment, safety tools, fishing boats, veterinary kits, and greenhouses. Additionally, it involves training on agricultural and fishery practices and improving irrigation by pumping water from wells, as well as establishing drip irrigation and canal networks.
This agreement aligns with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's initiatives, through the KSrelief, to implement best practices that bolster the agricultural sector and fisheries while providing support to small farmers and fishermen in Yemen.
