Grand Mosque's Advanced Cooling System Ensures Comfort for Visitors

The Grand Mosque's cooling system, with a 155,000-ton capacity and covering 1.5 million square meters, ensures optimal comfort for the holy mosque's visitors.

 The system, maintained around the clock, purifies air nine times daily using ultraviolet sterilization, removing 95% of germs.

 Technicians from the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque manage the electromechanical systems, balancing airflow based on visitor density to maintain a comfortable 22-24°C year-round.

 Seasonal adjustments include comprehensive checks of air handling units in summer and strategic shutdowns in winter, with all operations adhering to strict security and safety protocols.
