Islamic Affairs Ministry Equips Central Control Room to Operate Air Conditioning and Ventilation Systems in Al-Khayf and Namirah Mosques
As part of its ongoing technical and service projects to develop mosque facilities in the holy sites, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has equipped a central control room to operate the air conditioning and ventilation systems at Al-Khayf Mosque in Mina and Namirah Mosque in Arafat. This initiative is part of the ministry’s plan to enhance operational efficiency and improve the mosque environment during the Hajj season 1446 AH.
The control room represents a qualitative leap in smart operational systems. It is equipped with the latest electronic technologies that allow comprehensive control of fresh air units, air conditioning, and ventilation inside the mosques. The system enables engineers and technicians to access each unit individually to monitor its operational status, temperature, fan speed, and airflow, and to track temperatures around each unit.
Moreover, the control room facilitates both automatic and manual operation of exhaust fans to expel carbon dioxide-laden air and replace it with fresh outside air, improving air quality, increasing oxygen levels, and enhancing comfort and safety for the pilgrims.
This project is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to harness technological solutions in the service of pilgrims and to fulfill the directives of the wise leadership in providing a prepared environment that enables pilgrims to perform their rituals in comfortable and healthy conditions.
