
45th King Abdulaziz International Quran Memorization Competition to Kick Off Saturday in Makkah
Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the 45th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran will kick off on Saturday, Safar 15, 1447 AH, corresponding with August 09, 2025. The competition, organized and supervised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, will take place at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. Contestants from 128 countries around the world will take part—marking the highest number of participating nations since the competition’s inception in 1399 AH—affirming its international position and global leadership in the field of Quranic competitions.
The competition stands as one of the most prestigious international Quranic competitions. It reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's continued pioneering efforts to support Quranic programs, promote its global presence in serving the Holy Quran, and consolidate its civilizational message rooted in spreading goodness and moderation.
