World Quran Symposium 2025 Launches in Malaysia
The 2025 World Quran Symposium, organized by the Department of Islamic Development of Malaysia under the Prime Minister's Office of Malaysia, launched today in Kuala Lumpur under the theme "Embracing the Qur'an, Engaging in Civilization." Imam of the Prophet's Mosque Sheikh Dr. Salah Al-Budair delivered the keynote address at the opening ceremony.
The event was attended by Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Malaysian Minister in the Prime Minister's Department for Religious Affairs Dr. Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, along with a group of scholars, intellectuals, and individuals interested in Islamic affairs.
In his speech, Sheikh Al-Budair emphasized that the Islamic nation is the finest among nations and its civilization the most distinguished, being founded on monotheism, knowledge, purity, tolerance, righteousness, and benevolence. He noted that the Holy Quran urges the Muslim nation to cultivate the earth, achieve great accomplishments, and advance humanity in art, science, and industry—while upholding religion, morality, and identity.
He praised scholars and members of the Islamic nation, including researchers and inventors, for continuing the legacy of their forefathers in glory, innovation, and contribution.
The symposium aims to disseminate and instill Quranic values across the Muslim world, promote the integration of moral virtues derived from the Holy Quran into daily life, and raise societal awareness of the role of ethics in advancing and honoring humanity. These goals contribute to building a cohesive Muslim society that lives according to the teachings of the Holy Quran.
Sheikh Al-Budair's participation is part of his visit program organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. The program seeks to enhance communication with Muslim communities worldwide, strengthen brotherly and cooperative relations, and promote moderation.
