Film Commission Participates in Locarno Film Festival 2025
The Film Commission has announced its participation in the Locarno Film Festival 2025, taking place from August 6 to 16. Held annually in Locarno, Switzerland since 1946, the festival is a prestigious platform for discovering new talent and championing cinematic works, with a particular focus on experimental films, arthouse cinema, and debut works by emerging directors.
The commission's involvement reflects its broader strategic drive to spotlight Saudi Arabia on the global film stage, while empowering Saudi talent and promoting local productions.
The Saudi delegation includes commission representatives and a cohort of filmmakers who will take part in various festival events and industry programs.
Through this participation, the commission aims to support national talent, independent productions, and non-commercial films, as well as to showcase Saudi Arabia’s cultural richness and environmental diversity, offering exceptional filming locations. This aligns with the Kingdom’s strategic vision to strengthen the film sector as both a cultural force and an economic contributor.
