Grand Mosque Ensures Smooth, Secure Friday for Worshippers
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has implemented an integrated plan to assist worshippers and Umrah performers through field and organizational services, ensuring a safe and secure environment, particularly during busy Fridays.
To manage the flow of people, the authority’s field teams, supported by advanced technical systems, closely monitored crowd movement in the Tawaf and Sa'i areas, helping to maintain smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion. The services extended to various aspects of the Umrah experience. For example, five dedicated stations near the Marwah area were established to assist Umrah performers in completing their Tahallul rituals, while multiple luggage storage points were offered to allow worshippers to perform their rituals unburdened by personal belongings.
For families, child care centers operated at full capacity, providing a safe and nurturing environment for children. The services also included a digital prayer guide with an electronic copy of the Holy Quran, sermons, and instructions. Additionally, a unified transportation platform was used to facilitate movement for the elderly and persons with disabilities within the Grand Mosque.
The authority also continued to provide simultaneous translation of the Friday sermon, distribute zamzam water, and intensify cleaning and sterilization efforts throughout the Grand Mosque to ensure a high quality of service for all.
