AlUla Dates Gain Global Recognition as Premium Saudi Product

AlUla date season continues to attract growing numbers of farmers, shoppers, and traders, solidifying its role as a key agricultural and economic platform, with strong turnout this year reflected in rising sales and commercial contracts that boost the local economy and showcase AlUla as a cultural and tourist destination rooted in its agricultural heritage.
AlUla is home to over 4.1 million palm trees producing more than 169,000 tons of dates annually. In the last season, date sales exceeded 1.7 million kilograms, generating SAR8.8 million in revenue, along with an additional SAR220,000 from participation in local and international exhibitions.
These achievements are supported by the Royal Commission for AlUla, which has provided empowerment programs to more than 2,500 farmers, while 250 farms have been certified for producing high-quality dates that meet national standards. This support has helped AlUla dates earn a reputation as a premium Saudi product, gaining the trust of consumers and international markets.
