ZATCA Seizes over Five Million Amphetamine Pills Hidden in Charcoal Shipment
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) thwarted a major attempt to smuggle 5,388,998 amphetamine pills concealed within a shipment of charcoal arriving through King Abdulaziz Port.
Following the seizure, ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi stated that coordination was immediately established with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to track and apprehend the intended recipients within the Kingdom, leading to the arrest of three individuals who were expecting the illicit shipment.
Al-Harbi reaffirmed ZATCA's commitment to maintaining strict customs control over all imports and exports passing through the Kingdom’s ports to protect the nation.
ZATCA urged all citizens and residents to help combat smuggling and safeguard society and the national economy by confidentially reporting to 1910, email 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or the international number 009661910. Informants whose information proves accurate are eligible for a financial reward.
