Madinah Solidifies Position as Global and Regional Tourism Destination

The AlMadinah AlMunawarah Chamber recently released a report affirming Madinah as the top destination for visitors to the region, with tourism performance indicators showing that 73.7% of visitors are primarily drawn by the city’s unique combination of profound religious significance and its deep historical connection to the Prophet Muhammad.

 The report also highlighted Madinah's distinguished global position, ranking it seventh in the tourism performance index among the top 100 destinations worldwide.

 The report further indicated the growth of other key destinations in the region. AlUla Governorate attracted 47.2% of international tourists, who were drawn by its cultural events, historical experiences, and UNESCO World Heritage sites. Meanwhile, Yanbu Governorate was chosen by 14.1% of domestic tourists, who favored its beautiful beaches, marine services, and recreational facilities, making it a preferred family destination.

 The chamber affirmed that these positive indicators reflect the rapid growth in the tourism sector across Madinah Region, driven by the integrated efforts of the national tourism ecosystem to support key destinations and elevate the Kingdom’s position on the global tourism map, thereby achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
