KSrelief Signs Agreement for Water Supply and Sanitation Project in Yemen's Hajjah and Saada
King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) signed a cooperation agreement via video conference with a civil society organization to implement the eighth phase of the water supply and environmental sanitation project in Hajjah and Saada Governorates, Yemen. This initiative will benefit 30,422 individuals. KSrelief's Assistant Supervisor General of Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed Al-Baiz signed the agreement.
The project includes drilling and rehabilitating solar-powered wells, installing pumping networks, and constructing collection and distribution tanks. It also involves providing desalination plants, transporting water by trucks, and distributing water storage containers, personal hygiene kits, and latrine kits.
Additionally, the project covers the installation of mobile latrines, solid waste management, and cleaning campaigns. Awareness initiatives will target displaced persons and host communities on hygiene practices and include fogging and larval spraying to combat disease vectors. These efforts aim to reduce waterborne and sanitation-related diseases in the districts of Hajjah and the Azhoor camp in Saada.
This initiative extends KSrelief's efforts to strengthen Yemen's water and sanitation sector and promote a healthier environment.
