In a statement on the occasion of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, observed annually on July 30, Altuwaijri noted that the Kingdom has strengthened its regulatory framework by adopting the National Policy for the Elimination of Forced Labor and by issuing and amending several related regulations, bylaws, and initiatives. These include measures to protect labor rights as well as protections for whistleblowers, witnesses, experts, and victims.

She also stressed the importance of effective partnerships at the national, regional, and international levels to combat and prevent this crime, including the establishment of a joint fund in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration to support victims.
