Media, Education Ministries Launch Media Scholarship Initiative
In a ceremony attended by Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan and Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary, the Ministries of Education and Media signed a memorandum of cooperation to launch the Media Scholarship Initiative, aimed at training Saudi talent in leading global media companies and educational institutions.
The initiative will begin with the “Wa’ed” track for the media sector, part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program, which focuses on providing scholarships tied to future employment.
The program will offer training and academic degrees such as diploma, bachelor’s, and master’s in high-demand media specializations, including digital media, AI in media, content production, augmented and virtual reality, and digital journalism. Training will be provided in 15 countries in partnership with the private sector.
A workshop held yesterday brought together more than 35 private sector entities to discuss the initiative’s implementation. Following the workshop, a needs assessment will be finalized, programs will be approved, and applications for scholarship seats are expected to be announced within 60 days.
This collaboration reflects the ministries’ commitment to strengthening the national media industry and developing competencies aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
