Saudi Minister of Economy, Planning Participates in World Governments Summit
Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim participated in the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from February 11 to 13 under the theme "Shaping Future Governments."
Minister Alibrahim participated in a panel discussion titled "Sustainability Through Economic Diversification in the GCC," where he emphasized that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) integration is not a national compromise but a multiplier—driving national ambition and regional prosperity. In a shifting global landscape, deeper collaboration strengthens resilience, attracts investment, and enhances the GCC’s position on the global stage, he said.
On the second day of the summit, Minister Alibrahim participated in a session titled "The Emergence of Multiple Economic Blocs," highlighting how rising protectionism and trade disruptions are pushing countries and companies to prioritize stability over efficiency.
On the sidelines of the summit, Minister Alibrahim held discussions with key government and private-sector leaders to explore collaboration opportunities and strengthen bilateral relations.
The summit brings together governments, international organizations, thought leaders, and private-sector leaders to foster international cooperation and drive forward-thinking policies that empower the next generation of governments.
