Glimpse of SDRPY’s Contributions to Livelihood, Economic Empowerment in Yemen
The development projects and initiatives provided by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) significantly contribute to livelihood support and enhance rural resilience, while investing in human capital and empowering women, youth, and communities economically.
The initiatives aim to build the capacities of local communities across various fields, offering training, consultancy, and rehabilitation support for personnel in many vital sectors.
In collaboration with the Small and Micro Enterprise Promotion Service (SMEPS) in Yemen, SDRPY implemented the Livelihood Support for Vulnerable Communities Initiative, a project that aims to assist affected groups through innovative methods to restore rural livelihoods and strengthen local community resilience.
The initiative supports key food-security sectors, including agriculture, fisheries, and livestock, recognizing the sectors that are most vulnerable to environmental and economic shocks. The project ensures sustainable income sources and enhances local production, opening new avenues for development in Yemen.
The livelihood support project contributes to creating over 13,000 job opportunities for beneficiaries, aligning with SDRPY’s focus on capacity building and utilization of potential to improve daily life and build a promising future.
SDRPY has implemented 264 projects and initiatives across Yemen in vital sectors, supporting education, health, water, energy, transportation, as well as agriculture and fisheries. The program also enhances the capabilities of the Yemeni government and implements various development programs.
