MWL Welcomes UN Resolution on Israel's Obligations to UN Activities and Other Nations in Support of Palestinians and Their Occupied Territories
The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the adoption of a resolution by the UN General Assembly, submitted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Norway, and several other countries. The resolution calls for an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice regarding Israel's obligations in relation to the activities of the UN and other nations in support of Palestinians and their occupied territories.
In a statement issued by the MWL's General Secretariat, Secretary General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-lssa commended the resolution as a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian people and safeguard their rights. He emphasized that the resolution underscores the international consensus on the Palestinian people's inherent right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state, particularly in light of the grave violations they continue to endure.
He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their leadership in this crucial initiative. This resolution is a testament to Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment and central role in supporting the Palestinian cause and alleviating the suffering of its people.
