Environment Minister Launches Campaign to Encourage Daily Date Consumption
Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Palms and Dates Abdulrahman Alfadley today launched a campaign to encourage daily date consumption at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh.
The initiative, launched by the National Center for Palms and Dates, aims to promote the use of dates in everyday meals and beverages, highlight them as a natural sweetener, and strengthen their place as a healthy dietary choice and an integral part of Saudi culture and identity.
The center said the campaign aims to raise awareness of the nutritional value of dates and encourage their inclusion in daily diets through a range of initiatives targeting different segments of society. It also seeks to expand the use of Saudi dates in meals and daily consumption.
The center added that the campaign seeks to engage restaurants, cafés, and bakeries in developing and offering products and dishes made with dates. The campaign also includes the launch of digital platforms showcasing meals, beverages, and baked goods sweetened with dates. These platforms will highlight innovative uses of Saudi dates and encourage their wider adoption among young people and the broader community.
