
Almadinah Book Fair Embodies the Kingdom’s Cultural Aspirations, Al Wasel Says
CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission Dr. Abdullatif Abdulaziz Al Wasel described Almadinah Book Fair 2025 as an extension of the Kingdom’s renewed cultural vision.
He stated that it reflects the notable progress in the publishing industry, the promotion of reading, and the development of interactive cultural platforms that align with the aspirations of diverse segments of Saudi society.
Dr. Al Wasel noted that the fair contributes to empowering local publishers and opening new avenues for printed books by improving accessibility. He added that this enhances Madinah’s status as a hub of culture and knowledge and reflects the Kingdom’s growing cultural movement in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals to foster knowledge awareness and promote local content.
He stated that this year’s fair features notable initiatives, including a dedicated area for discounted books to offer visitors affordable access to titles, alongside enhanced technical infrastructure and organizational services to deliver a more interactive and seamless experience.
Additionally, he said: “The fair presents a rich cultural program featuring prominent figures from the literary and cultural scenes, addressing a wide range of topics including literature, thought, and the arts, through events that reflect the depth and diversity of contemporary Saudi culture.”
