Imam Turki bin Abdullah Reserve Highlights Rangers' Efforts on World Ranger Day

The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority has launched an awareness campaign to highlight the crucial role of rangers in protecting the environment, preserving wildlife, and maintaining heritage sites within the reserve. This initiative marks the celebration of World Ranger Day, observed annually on July 31.

Rangers in the reserve are responsible for monitoring wildlife habitats, assessing vegetation cover, and addressing environmental violations such as logging and poaching. They also provide critical field information for environmental monitoring in one of the Kingdom's most diverse ecosystems.

The authority prioritizes ranger skill development and is committed to specialized training programs to tackle environmental challenges. This aligns with its vision for integrated reserve management, utilizing qualified personnel, advanced technology, and community collaboration.

The campaign underscores the authority's dedication to raising public awareness of rangers' vital contributions and honoring their efforts, which are crucial to environmental protection.

The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve is the second largest royal reserve in the Kingdom, covering approximately 91,500 km². It is home to over 256 wildlife species and more than 235 plant species, featuring unique geographical characteristics and significant historical sites.
