UNESCO Global Forum on AI Ethics Continues in Riyadh with Focus on Governance and Society

The third day of the fourth edition of the UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence 2026 continues today in Riyadh, with the participation of a group of experts, specialists, and officials from around the world.

 Today's sessions discuss a number of topics related to AI ethics and governance, as well as the role of civil society and academia in AI governance, the ethical implications of physical AI, and the future of AI in serving people.

 Under the neurotechnology track, a plenary session examines the growing convergence between neuroscience and AI, and the ethical and rights-related challenges surrounding mental privacy and neural data protection.

 In the education sector, a dedicated session explores challenges related to preserving the public role of education in the age of AI, with a focus on higher education.

 The day's program also includes a plenary session on the future of work in the cultural sector amid AI and digital transformation, examining ways to ensure an ethical, inclusive, and human rights-based transition.

 A further session examines the ethical aspects of AI systems operating in physical environments, including robots and autonomous systems used in workplaces, care settings, education, and public spaces.
