UN Recognizes Saudi Arabia's Geospatial Ecosystem as Global Best Practice

The United Nations has recognized the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its national geospatial governance and ecosystem, highlighting it as one of the world's best practices.

This recognition took place during the third expert meeting of the UN Working Group on Policy and Legal Frameworks for Geospatial Information Management, which was hosted by Saudi Arabia and represented by the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information.

The national geospatial governance is guided by the strategic components of the UN Integrated Geospatial Information Framework. The national geospatial ecosystem, which integrates various producers and users of information, technologies, and policies, is designed to analyze and disseminate diverse data in three- and four-dimensional environments.

This achievement reflects the Saudi leadership's strong support for the sector, aiming to enhance geospatial information's role in facilitating national development and informed decision-making, thereby contributing to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
