Foreign Minister Attends Second Meeting of the Saudi-French Ministerial Committee on the Development of AlUla
In the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi-French Ministerial Committee supervising the intergovernmental agreement signed on April 10, 2018, regarding the cultural, heritage, tourism, and human development of AlUla convened its second meeting today, in Paris.
The meeting, chaired by Minister of Culture and Governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan on the Saudi side, and by Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic Jean-Noël Barrot on the French side, reviewed the agreements signed between the two sides and the progress achieved in transforming AlUla into a global cultural and tourism destination.
The meeting also explored opportunities to expand cooperation between the two sides across various sectors, with a particular focus on antiquities, sports, arts, as well as development and construction.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of France Fahad Ruwaily, Acting CEO of the Royal Commission for AlUla Abeer AlAkel.
On the French side, attendees included French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, French Minister of Economy and Finance Antoine Armand and Chairman of the French Agency for AlUla Development Jean-Yves Le Drian.
