Red Sea Labs Opens Registration for Seventh Edition of Feature Films Program
Red Sea Labs, a subsidiary of the Red Sea Film Foundation, has opened registration for the seventh edition of its Feature Films Program, accepting applications until September 15 as part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to support emerging filmmakers by developing their skills and bringing their cinematic projects to life.
Formerly known as "The Lodge," the program is one of the region’s leading creative initiatives, offering a comprehensive platform to support talent from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Asia and Africa. It features an intensive professional training residency focused on script development, technical refinement, and expanding production opportunities, guided by international experts in directing, screenwriting, cinematography, editing, sound, post-production, and distribution.
The program consists of six immersive workshops: the first is dedicated exclusively to Saudi participants, followed by five international sessions that bring together filmmakers from diverse backgrounds in a collaborative environment. A specialized track for producers focuses on technical, strategic, and production aspects, while also enabling participants to build a global professional network and strengthen their presence in international film markets.
The program culminates in the presentation of selected projects at the Red Sea Souk, held alongside the sixth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in 2026. Awards will be presented to the best projects in the presence of distributors, financiers, and producers.
Through this initiative, Red Sea Labs seeks to strengthen the presence of Saudi and regional cinema on the global production map and empower creators to tell their stories using innovative artistic approaches that enrich the cinematic landscape.
