Mawani Launches Red Sea Express Shipping Service to King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), in cooperation with Folk Maritime and SABIC, announced the launch of the new Red Sea Express container shipping service to King Fahd Industrial Port.
With a capacity of up to 1,100 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), the service connects Jeddah Islamic Port, King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu, Ain Sokhna Port, and Aqaba Port.
The launch reflects the growing role of Saudi ports as a key driver of regional trade and reinforces the Kingdom's position as a strategic logistics hub on the Red Sea.
The direct shipping route between King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu, Ain Sokhna Port in Egypt, and Aqaba Port in Jordan represents a significant advancement in logistics services. It also highlights the integrated efforts of leading national companies, particularly Folk Maritime and SABIC, in supporting trade and improving export efficiency.
The new shipping line is expected to accelerate handling operations, reduce waiting times, and improve supply chain efficiency, contributing to streamlined logistics services and enhanced operational performance.
The service is also expected to generate positive economic impacts by increasing non-oil exports and attracting new investments, further strengthening the role of ports as a vital economic driver for both the region and the Kingdom.
In addition, the shipping line will enhance the competitiveness of national exports by reducing shipping times and transportation costs. It will also increase the attractiveness of Saudi products and create broader trade opportunities, particularly for agricultural products, through advanced logistics services.
These efforts support the Kingdom’s ambition to strengthen its position as a global logistics hub in line with the goals of Vision 2030.
