Saudi Arabia Strongly Condemns Israeli Approval of Draft Laws Banning UNRWA Activities in Occupied Palestinian Territories

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the Israeli Knesset’s approval of draft laws banning the activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Kingdom stressed that such action constitutes a blatant violation of international law and directly undermines the principles of international legitimacy amid the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe faced by the Palestinian people.
It reaffirmed its unequivocal rejection of the ongoing, systematic actions by the Israeli occupation authorities aimed at politically and militarily targeting UN agencies and relief organizations.
The Kingdom stressed that these practices constitute a continuation of ethnic-cleansing crimes against the Palestinian people, erasing Palestinian identity, and undermining efforts to achieve comprehensive and just peace.
The Kingdom reiterated its support and solidarity with UNRWA in its humanitarian mission to aid Palestinian refugees across all fields. It emphasized that the agency is one of the outcomes of UN Security Council Resolution 194 of 1948, which remains a cornerstone of legal and material support for the Palestinian refugees' right of return.
