Second Arabic Calligraphy Arts Forum Opens in Jeddah
The second season of the Arabic Calligraphy Arts Forum, running until August 28, kicked off yesterday in Jeddah with the participation of Arab and international calligraphers and visual artists, aiming to highlight the beauty and diversity of this ancient art form, support artists, and promote the culture of Arabic calligraphy.
Forum coordinator Saud Khan stated that the event is one of the most prominent forums of its kind, featuring 138 artworks by 105 calligraphers from 13 participating countries, along with an elite group of Saudi calligraphers. A committee of senior calligraphers oversaw a meticulous selection process to ensure the high quality of all works.
The event includes live art performances and specialized workshops designed to help hone talent. The forum aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 as part of a national initiative supporting visual arts, a key element of the Kingdom’s cultural identity, with the ultimate goal of becoming a global platform for calligraphers to collaborate and develop their craft.
