Arabian Oryx Breeding Programs Restore Ecological Balance in King Salman Royal Reserve
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve is actively working to conserve the Arabian oryx, an endangered species found within its boundaries, through dedicated reintroduction and breeding programs.
These successful efforts have documented the birth of several Arabian oryx within the reserve, a significant event after the species was locally extinct in the wild for more than 90 years due to environmental pressures, overhunting, and loss of vegetation cover.
The reserve's ongoing commitment to these programs enhances biodiversity, restores ecological balance, and reflects its dedication to conserving species whose numbers have been critically reduced.
