Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Authority Sets End Date for Seasonal Grazing Program
The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority announced that Saturday, January 31, 2026, will mark the conclusion of the seasonal grazing program within the reserve, in accordance with its previous announcement issued on September 9, 2025.
The authority emphasized that all seasonal grazing beneficiaries must vacate the designated grazing areas by the specified deadline at the latest, in line with approved regulations and controls. It noted that beneficiaries may leave before this date, provided they fully comply with the established procedures and instructions to ensure an orderly exit, protect natural rangelands, and achieve environmental sustainability objectives.
The authority explained that exiting the seasonal grazing area, whether before or at the end of the designated period, requires a pre-approved crossing permit, stressing that any departure without one constitutes a violation of the applicable regulations. It also underscored the importance of following designated crossing routes outside the reserve during the exit period, as this helps regulate movement, ensure user safety, and protect environmentally sensitive sites.
The authority stated that crossing permit applications can be submitted via its website, with a dedicated call center at 920022077 available for inquiries. It also emphasized that beneficiaries are responsible for maintaining cleanliness in grazing areas and must conclude the program in a manner that reflects environmental awareness and adherence to regulations, promoting the sustainability of natural rangelands.
The authority also urged seasonal grazing beneficiaries to follow traffic safety instructions when crossing outside the reserve’s boundaries and to keep livestock at least 200 meters away from paved and main roads to safeguard public safety and prevent traffic hazards. It noted that any grazing beyond the specified period constitutes a clear violation of regulations, adding that field protection and monitoring teams will continue their work to ensure compliance and enforcement in accordance with the governing bylaws.
The authority commended the cooperation of seasonal grazing beneficiaries and local communities throughout the program, noting that such collaboration reflects an effective partnership in preserving natural resources and contributes to achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 environmental sustainability goals.
