Unified Media Center Conducts Hajj Media Briefing, Highlighting Logistics and Communication Preparedness
The Ministry of Media’s unified Hajj media operations center held a media briefing yesterday to discuss preparations for the Hajj season. Participating in the briefing were spokesperson for the Hajj transportation and logistics system Saleh Al-Zuwaid, and official spokesperson for the Hajj communications and technology system Saad Al-Shanbari.
Al-Zuwaid emphasized the high level of preparedness and integrated readiness achieved early across all sectors, including air, land, sea, and rail, as well as logistics services. He noted these sectors have already begun executing their operational plans, which are progressing smoothly and according to schedule. He also reported that a total of 3,314 charter flights designated for pilgrims have been received, arriving from 238 destinations across 71 countries, operated by 62 air carriers.
He revealed that Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah recorded the highest share of incoming flights, accounting for 57%, followed by King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which received 42% of the flights. Meanwhile, the Haramain High-Speed Railway has been delivering exceptional services since the beginning of the Hajj season, with 4,700 scheduled trips set to transport over 2 million passengers. This represents an increase of 400,000 seats compared to last year, enhancing capacity and convenience for pilgrims.
Al-Shanbari stated that the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) continuously monitors service quality in real-time to ensure a reliable and secure digital experience throughout the Hajj season. This proactive oversight supports the stability and efficiency of communication and technology services for all pilgrims. He emphasized that these integrated efforts, coordinated with all Hajj-related agencies, aim to deliver the highest standards of service and enrich the overall experience for pilgrims.
