SWA Water Academy Launches Two Initiatives to Develop National Capabilities

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA), through its training arm, the Water Academy, has launched two new initiatives as part of its strategic direction aimed at building and developing national capabilities in the water sector.
The two initiatives include the launch of the "Familiarization Program in Production and Transport Systems" and the "Transfer of the Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP) Program to the Water Academy".
These initiatives reflect the SWA's commitment to developing highly qualified national technical and engineering talent while also advancing operational sustainability across the water sector.
The first initiative aims to train and familiarize employees—including engineers, operators, and maintenance technicians—with the operation and maintenance of production and transmission systems in major water projects.
Furthermore, transferring the HAZOP to the academy contributes to strengthening operational sustainability in the water sector by preventing accidents and reducing breakdowns. The program systematically identifies and evaluates potential risks and operational deviations in industrial processes.
These two initiatives underscore the Water Academy's commitment to serving as a key driver of knowledge transfer and technology localization. They reinforce its strategic role as an enabling institution dedicated to preparing, qualifying, and empowering national talent in line with the highest international standards, ensuring project readiness and continuity of sustainable, efficient operations.
