
Intercity Buses Record Over 44,000 Trips, Transport Nearly 1 Million Passengers in Q2 2025
The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced today that intercity bus transportation projects across the Kingdom recorded more than 44,000 trips during the second quarter of 2025, reflecting growing demand for this vital sector.
According to TGA statistics, the total number of passengers using intercity buses exceeded 958,000 during this period. This notable growth underscores the increasing reliance on bus transportation as a convenient option for travel between cities, supported by advanced technical features that meet the highest operational standards.
Makkah Region recorded the highest number of passengers, reaching 226,893, followed by Riyadh Region at 222,960, Eastern Region at 144,972, and Madinah at 69,562. Other regions also saw notable activity, including Aseer at 60,450 passengers, Tabuk at 50,351, Jazan at 32,463, and Qassim at 24,824.
The authority reaffirmed its ongoing efforts to develop and expand bus transportation services, ensuring accessibility for all beneficiaries across the Kingdom's regions.
