Health Minister Reviews NUPCO's Hajj Readiness, Launches Drone Medical Supply Service
Minister of Health and Chairman of NUPCO's Board of Directors Fahad AlJalajel yesterday inaugurated the latest medical supply services using drones and helicopters during his inspection tour of NUPCO's logistics center in Arafat, a visit aimed at assessing the company's readiness for the Hajj season 1446 AH and ensuring accessible healthcare services for pilgrims.
NUPCO stated that drone technology is set to revolutionize the speed of delivering urgent medical supplies. This innovative approach will enable the delivery of medicines and medical supplies to healthcare facilities in the most densely populated areas during the Hajj season within a record time of 5 to 6 minutes, significantly reducing the average delivery time from approximately one hour. The service targets six key medical facilities strategically located in Arafat, Mina, and Muzdalifah, supporting immediate responses to emergency health cases and enhancing the safety of pilgrims.
In addition to drone delivery, NUPCO introduced the "Smart Health Bracelet" initiative, which aims to monitor the health indicators of security personnel on the ground. NUPCO's smart medical supply network now covers more than 130 healthcare facilities at the holy sites and manages the movement of over 90 million medical units, including more than 2,000 types of medicines and supplies.
