Royal Commission for Riyadh City Launches ‘Riyadh Film Music Festival’
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) announced the launch of the second annual Riyadh Film Music Festival at the Red Hall in Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
According to a press release issued by the RCRC, the festival is witnessing wide attendance from musicians, directors, filmmakers, and enthusiasts from within the Kingdom and abroad and will continue through August 9.
The opening night featured a live orchestral performance blending visuals and sound, with musical pieces from some of the world’s most famous films.
This year, the Riyadh Film Music Festival coincides with the city’s hosting of the Esports World Cup, as part of the RCRC’s efforts to enhance cultural and artistic activity and support various forms of art in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The release added that the festival aims to deepen the audience’s appreciation of the musical dimension in films through an artistic experience that includes screening four international films: Top Gun: Maverick, Pirates of the Caribbean, Back to the Future, and The Lion King. During the screenings, the music will be performed live, allowing attendees to enjoy the films in a unique atmosphere that rediscover the power of music in cinematic storytelling.
Additionally, the festival featured live orchestral performances of works by renowned composers, including “He’s a Pirate” from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Alan Silvestri’s music from Back to the Future, and Hans Zimmer’s iconic work from The Lion King.
The festival is part of the initiatives by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, which aims to enrich cultural and entertainment options for residents and visitors of the capital and to establish Riyadh as a global hub for arts and culture.
