Saudi Arabia Affirms Water Security Priority at UN Launch of UNICEF Resilience Index

Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil participated in the UN launch of the Global Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Resilience Index (GWSRI) organized by UNICEF and its partners in New York.
 In his address, Alwasil welcomed the new index and emphasized that strengthening the resilience of global water systems is crucial, given the challenges posed by climate change, water scarcity, and rising global crises.
 He affirmed that water security remains a core national priority for the Kingdom under Saudi Vision 2030, highlighting that targeted investments in infrastructure, innovation, and proactive planning enhance the sustainability of water services.
 He concluded by stressing the vital importance of international cooperation and knowledge-sharing to support global water security and achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
