ZATCA Foils Major Captagon Smuggling Attempt at Al-Batha Port
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle a massive amount of narcotic pills into the Kingdom through the Al-Batha Land Port, where 2,991,342 Captagon pills were hidden in a shipment disguised as "LED lighting products."
ZATCA officers, employing a combination of security techniques and physical inspections, discovered the concealed drugs during routine customs procedures. ZATCA also coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to apprehend the two intended recipients in the Kingdom.
The ZATCA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening customs control of the Kingdom's imports and exports, stressing that it will remain vigilant to thwart smuggling attempts and ensure the safety of the society.
It urged the public to participate in combating smuggling by contacting the authority at the designated number for security reports, 1910, via e-mail: 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or the international number 009661910.
Through these channels, the authority receives reports regarding smuggling and violations of the unified customs system in strict confidentiality, offering a financial reward if the information provided is accurate.
