Rural Tourism Blossoms in Al-Jouf Region

Al-Jouf region boasts a rich natural heritage, with fertile agricultural lands and abundant palm groves historically providing sustenance for its residents. Many of these oases still thrive today.

One such example is the remarkable transformation of a family palm grove by citizen Ahmed Al-Arfaj. Located within a residential neighborhood, the grove, planted by his father six decades ago on a thousand-square-meter plot, has been revitalized into a captivating rural destination.

Al-Arfaj thoughtfully incorporated the natural elements into his project. Wooden lighting poles illuminate the grove, while water features add a soothing touch. Palm fronds have been ingeniously used to create an external wall, enclosing the space and enhancing its rustic charm. Traditional seating areas, reminiscent of old gathering places in the region, provide comfortable spaces for relaxation and socializing.

The revitalized oasis has become a popular spot for locals and visitors alike to enjoy the serene atmosphere. It also serves as a venue for a variety of cultural events, including performances of traditional arts such as Al-Ardah, Al-Samri, Al-Dahha, and Rababa music.
