Qassim Governor Praises Success of Buraidah Dates Carnival

Qassim Region Governor Prince Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz visited the Buraidah Dates Carnival yesterday, where he was briefed on the efforts of the National Center for Palms and Dates in developing marketing and quality standards and expanding partnerships with farmers and entrepreneurs.

Prince Faisal emphasized that the carnival is no longer just a seasonal event but has become a significant economic landmark and cultural symbol, showcasing the region’s professionalism in presenting local products. He praised producers’ growing awareness of quality, marketing, and packaging, which supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in promoting food security and sustainable development.

The Buraidah Dates Carnival, recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest of its kind, features over 100 varieties of Qassim dates. The region, with over 11 million palm trees, exports more than 578,000 tons of dates annually, solidifying its role as a major hub for food security and investment.
