
Over 11 Million Palm Trees in Qassim Region Reflect Rich Quality of Saudi Dates
Qassim Region, known for its fertile soil, fresh water, and palm-friendly climate, is home to over 11 million palm trees of various types, classified as desert plants that can endure the Arabian Peninsula’s extreme summer heat and winter cold.
The complementary climatic and agricultural conditions in Qassim Region have contributed to a significant expansion in palm tree cultivation, driven by increasing local demand and growing nutritional awareness among consumers.
Date farmer Abdulaziz Al-Baridi noted the support that farmers in the region receive from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Qassim, which includes educating farmers about irrigation methods and palm pest control, as well as preparing markets for the sale and trade of dates.
