Saudi Women Facilitate Pilgrims' Departure from Bangladesh for Hajj
Saudi female passport officers play a vital role in assisting pilgrims from Bangladesh, ensuring a smooth departure to the Kingdom through the Makkah Route Initiative lounge at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
Now in its seventh year, the Makkah Route Initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Interior across seven countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Morocco, Türkiye, and Côte d'Ivoire.
It streamlines pilgrims’ Hajj travel by having visas issued electronically, biometric data collected, all travel procedures carried out at the departure airports, including ensuring the pilgrims have a clean bill of health, and coding and sorting baggage, according to the transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
