Saudi Development Projects Enhance Quality of Healthcare in Yemen

As part of the strong relations and fraternal ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and in support of reconstruction and development efforts across various sectors, the Kingdom continues to implement health initiatives and projects through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY). These initiatives represent a vital aspect of healthcare support and have contributed to improving the quality of health services in Yemen and expanding access for Yemeni citizens, positively impacting the growth and efficiency of the healthcare sector in the country.
 Over the past years, the health projects implemented by SDRPY have provided comprehensive medical services to more than four million beneficiaries across various Yemeni governorates. These services included constructing and equipping hospitals and medical centers, rehabilitating and operating healthcare facilities, capacity-building for medical personnel, training programs, job creation, and health awareness initiatives to enhance public health and improve medical services in Yemen.
 The developmental projects and initiatives targeting healthcare facilities are part of broader medical support efforts and an overall enhancement of the Yemeni healthcare sector. Support has been extended to 26 medical facilities in nine Yemeni governorates, which contributed to improving and expanding healthcare service delivery to the Yemeni population. These hospitals and specialized medical centers have played a central role in treating patients across Yemen.
 The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) is keen to provide special support to the most needy groups, including children with disabilities, as the project has benefited more than 7,000 individuals. The center aims to provide rehabilitation services for children with disabilities, which contributes to improving their lives.
 Health projects were not limited to building and equipping facilities, but have also included training local medical personnel and developing their skills. This support contributed to raising the efficiency of the Yemeni health sector and creating new job opportunities in the healthcare sector.
 These health projects and initiatives implemented by SDRPY reflect the Kingdom's commitment to providing support to the people of Yemen, at a time when the health sector is witnessing great challenges. The support also includes eight vital sectors such as education, health, transportation, energy, water, agriculture, fisheries, and development programs that reached 264 projects and initiatives in 16 Yemeni governorates.
